Torment 12 is not a damage check you can brute-force in a weekend. It is more about putting the right pieces together, then farming with a purpose. Before you worry about the highest tier, get a build that actually works as a whole. Start by checking which D4 items support your main skill, your defense, and your resource flow. A Warlock built around Blazing Scream or Metamorphosis, for example, feels completely different once its key Unique pieces are in place. That early setup makes every later step less painful.
Build Around a Clear Target
Do not just run whatever boss happens to be available. Pick the item that changes your build most, find its source, and work backward from there. If an amulet from the Beast in the Ice fixes your resource issues, that is a better use of time than chasing five upgrades at once. The same goes for boots from Lord Zir or any other slot that unlocks an Aspect, a cooldown break, or a survival layer. Gather summoning materials while doing your normal activities, then spend them on the boss that moves your character forward. It sounds simple, but plenty of players lose hours by farming without a target.
Match Your Power to the Activity
Prime Evil Powers should change with your plan for the session. One choice may feel great in Helltides, then do very little for a Pit push. Keep the swap practical rather than treating one Splinter as a permanent pick.
Activity | Prime Evil Power | Main use.
Helltides and Infernal Hordes | Splinter of Terror | Faster rewards and smoother clears.
Kurast Undercity and Lair Bosses | Splinter of Destruction | Stronger boss-focused runs.
The Pit and Nightmare Dungeons | Splinter of Hatred | Better support for harder progression content.
When you need another power, seek its related open-world encounter and replace the active Splinter. It is a small adjustment, though it can save a run from feeling sluggish.
Use the Cube to Fill the Gaps
The Horadric Cube is where scattered drops turn into real progress. Boss Trophies and Enhanced Primordial Dust can be used through Amalgamation to make an early Unique, which is often the first big jump between Torment levels. It also gives you a sensible route when one missing Legendary Aspect is holding everything back. Spend Obols on the right item slot, take a promising base to the Cube, and improve it there. Soul Splinters matter too. Five matching lower-rank pieces can become a stronger version, so keep them instead of tossing them aside. Set Charms deserve the same attention: reroll duplicates within a set or use the three-for-one option to chase missing board slots.
Keep Pit Runs Fast
Glyph levels decide whether Torment 12 feels manageable or miserable. Do not camp in a Pit tier that takes ten minutes and leaves you drained. Run the highest tier you can clear cleanly in roughly three minutes, then repeat it. A tier about ten levels above your current Glyph level gives a solid upgrade chance, and fast completions add up quickly. Mix those runs with War Plans, Helltides, Undercity trips, and Nightmare Dungeons so materials keep coming in. If a key slot is still weak, checking available D4 items for sale can help you refocus the build before the next push.
